Real estate industry experts and the media have been predicting the bursting of the housing bubble for a while now, like modern day Nostradamus'. The U.S's market will crash, home value medians will dive, sales will slump. The past few months have been filled with a lot of doom and gloom predictions of the nation's market. But knowing what the national market is doing and the national home value median isn't going to help you when you want to buy or sell in a specific area. (In case you're curious, the national median home value was $221,900 in 2006). To get a good idea of where an area's market is headed, whether home value goes up or down, you need to look at more than just that area's current market. You've got to examine it's econo...

First Year a Success for Emergency Associates of Wyoming
Cheyenne, WY (PRWEB) May 13, 2006 -- Emergency Associates of Wyoming, LLC, (EAW) celebrated its first year in operation earlier this year. The physician group then celebrated its first year of partnering with United Medical Center (UMC) on May 11. It has been a win-win-win year for patients, hospital, and physician group.
Patients have seen shorter length-of-stay times in the Emergency Department (ED) in the past year—almost two hours shorter. They have also experienced better communication during their stays, which has reduced patient frustration and dissatisfaction. This has helped to reduce the number of patients who leave the ED without being seen.
Recently, Tracy Garcia, UMC ED nurse manager, commented to The Wyoming Tribune Eagle that people have noticed the improvement. She spoke of a patient who had been to the ED prior to the takeover of EAW, and had complained. He returned in the past year and commented to Garcia that he’d seen a big difference.
The hospital has been pleased with the change, as well. The November 2005 issue of Advancement, the hospital foundation's magazine, read, “UMC is poised to provide the highest quality, regional-based emergency healthcare in the tri-state area with patients’ comfort and convenience in mind.”
Michael J. Means, MD, medical director in the ED, is also excited about what the team of EAW and UMC means for physicians. “This partnership is ideal because it gives the physicians ownership of the group,” he said to Advancement. “Physicians end up caring more.”
It’s one reason Dr. Means came to UMC and, he explained, unlike the situations for most physicians in emergency medicine who are working for corporations where there is no ownership.
Dr. Means was also contracted to help coordinate and streamline the EMS system related to Laramie County fire departments for UMC. After a great deal of work, Dr. Means said the effort is well on its way.
The parent company of EAW is Emergency Associates of Colorado, LLC (EAC), a management services organization located in Littleton, Colorado. EAC is also the parent company of Emergency Associates of Arizona (EAA). For more information visit the EAC Web site at www.eacllc.com or contact President of Operations Barbara Fry at 303-759-0854.
